WM of the ECC: TheEvangelical Covenant Church is committed to advancing God’s kingdom through ministries that equip women to grow, serve, and reach out with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through leadership, training, retreats, and global opportunities, the Covenant Church connects women in transformational relationships and unites them in Christ to impact our world.
We are a part of the Midwest Conference.
Salem Women Ministries meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, September through May, with special activities during June, July, and August. All women are welcome. Meeting consist of Devotions, a time for praises and prayers, a time to deal with business before the group, and, of course, a time for coffee and fellowship.
Salem WM has numerous ongoing projects. Our committees are responsible for BINGO at Oakland Heights once a month, Flower decoration at the church, Celebration of life blankets for our new babies, College and Military encouragement boxes Coordination of Love Meals for those who have been in the hospital, Encouragement for our Shut-ins, and coordination of Pot Lucks and Funeral Lunches. Another project has been to help Golden Oaks with Swedish Pancakes each June.
Durning the past 3 years, we have focused our fundraising on the Lycee Vanette School in Congo, to guarantee that girls get an education. By using Congolese fabric, we made hundreds of purses and other items which we sold. We also had bake sales called ‘Calories for Congo.’ We raised more than $12,000 which was sent to Congo, and the first class of girls at Lycee Vanette School will graduate in 2017.
Salem WM also financially support our Conference WM and WM of the ECC, our Camp Covenant Cedars, and many other projects as the need arises.
